Our catalogue carries two related but distinct collections: Bali Beads (212 designs) and Bali Beads Caps (17 designs). If you're new to the catalogue, it's worth understanding what separates them and how they're typically used together.
Bali Beads: the focal piece
The main Bali Beads collection is hand-detailed Balinese-style silver beadwork - genuine granulation and filigree work, in 925 sterling silver, designed to function as the statement piece in a necklace or bracelet. See our full guide to Bali Beads for more on the technique itself.
Bali Beads Caps: the finishing piece
Bali Beads Caps are a separate, smaller collection - dome- and cone-shaped caps carrying the same hand-applied granulation and filigree work as the main collection, designed to sit at either end of a focal bead and finish the piece. We split these into their own collection specifically because they serve a different function in a design than the beads themselves do - a cap isn't a smaller version of a bead, it's a different component entirely, even though the craftsmanship and style are matched.
Using them together
A typical Bali-style design pairs one or more focal beads from the main collection with a matching pair of caps from the caps collection at either end, often finished with an appropriate clasp to complete the piece. Since both collections carry the same hand-detailed granulation and filigree style, mixing and matching within them keeps a consistent look across a finished design.
Dome or cone - does it matter?
Within the Bali Beads Caps collection, designs come in either a dome or cone silhouette - a styling choice rather than a quality difference; which one suits a given design comes down to the shape of the bead it's finishing and the overall look you're going for.
